Many duck hunters have good experiences with supplementing their decoy setup with completely black decoys. The advantage seems to be that the migrating ducks can better see the contrast with the dark spots on the water from a distance and can only see decoys with color when they have come closer due to different lighting conditions including the angle of the sun.
