Seeking inspiration, Tricky Pink founder looked to America where calling is its own sport, and he was astounded by how far off the mark the UK market were in terms of materials and techniques. Short reeds, cutdown calls, shaved reeds, tone holes – so much to learn and develop for the UK wildfowl hunters.

This Greylag Goose Call is made using the best materials available. Acrylic is widely regarded as the best to use in wildfowl calls for the vastly superior sounds they produce.
Using a collection of unique features hybrid j-frame x short reed tone board combined with a very narrow tone channel this call can hit those astonishing low and aggressive murmurs as greylags compete for food, while also producing those ear splitting highs you need to get their attention at a distance and get them moving in the right direction toward you.
How to use:
- Grip the call by the insert between your thumb and index finger, with the rest of your hand continue to curl your other fingers so as to form an echo chamber, the same diameter as the call insert
- Place the call mouthpiece against your lips as if drinking from a bottle forming a tight seal
- The simplest call to operate, to make the growl, simply breath “HA-HA HAAA” repeatedly.
- To get the louder high shreeks simply increase the air pressure and repeat “HE-HE-HA-HA” repeatedly.
- When in the field, as the birds are at distance stick to higher pitched sounds to get the birds attention at range. Once the birds get closer add in more low growls and feeding murmur into the mix, as the birds close into 70-80 meters range remove any high pitched noises out completely and decrease the volume of murmurs as the birds pitch in to land.
